Cancer Research UK is a cancer research and awareness-promotion group in the United Kingdom.

It was formed on the 4th February 2002 by the merger of the Cancer Research Campaign and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

It is the world's leading charity dedicated to research on the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer

The charity supports the work of more than 3,000 researchers, physicians, and other medical personnel.

Most of its funds come from private and corporate donations. It also conducts fundraising events. In addition, it has a network of volunteers and operates over 600 charity shops. The shops stock both new and used donated items.

A number of celebrities support Cancer Research UK.

It undertakes cancer research in hospitals, universities and medical schools throughout the UK.

It also disseminates information to the public and the scientific community and makes information about current clinical trials accessible.

The charity aims to control cancer within two generations by:
